The story follows Theo Dahl, a brilliant but short-tempered Michelin-star chef in Copenhagen whose perfectionism and anger have left his career in tatters. When his estranged father dies, Theo inherits a rundown estate and restaurant in Tuscany. Initially, he travels to Italy with the sole intention of selling the property quickly to fund his dream restaurant back home.

However, his plans are complicated when he meets Sophia ( Cristiana Dell'Anna ), a local woman who was close to his father. As Sophia's wedding approaches, Theo agrees to cater the event, leading to a journey of self-discovery where he begins to resolve his "daddy issues" and embraces the slower, more soulful pace of Tuscan life.
