The story follows Raj ( Salman Khan ), a struggling singer in Mumbai who rescues a girl named Pooja (Rani Mukerji) from a car accident. While she is in a coma, her wealthy family mistakes Raj for the man she eloped with. Raj maintains the charade to further his singing ambitions but eventually falls for Pooja's best friend, Jahnvi (Preity Zinta), leading to a complex love triangle when Pooja wakes up and also falls for him.
